Stephen Kavanagh
Architect and Founding Director
A native of North Dublin, Stephen studied at the Dublin School of Architecture before joining Design Engine Architects in Winchester in 2009. There, he spent two years working on the Stirling Prize-midlisted and RIBA Award-winning Oxford Brookes University .
In 2011, Stephen joined InsideOut in London, a practice he continues to collaborate with today, delivering varied projects from small residential refurbishments and new low-energy housing blocks to commercial hospitality interiors. Stephen has also worked at Ben Adams Architects on a new Bankside office development, and at Gresford Architects developing a number of exciting Passivhaus schemes.
Pip Marshall-Waterfield
Associate Director
Pip studied Architecture at the University of Sheffield before moving to London to complete her Masters at the University of Westminster. Pip passed RIBA Part 3 with Distinction at London Metropolitan University, becoming an ARB registered architect.
In 2007, Pip joined APA London to work on retail, workplace and high-end residential schemes, leading projects for clients including Stella McCartney, Jane Shepherdson and Ilse Crawford. Brands include Stella McCartney Ltd, Whistles, Barclays and Liberty of London.
In 2017, Pip joined Gresford Architects, leading a number of high-quality residential projects with a focus on materiality and sustainability. Her work is driven by a love of tactile materials, natural light and creating spaces that change the way people live for the better.
Andrea Koerner
Architect and Associate
Andrea was born and raised in the United States, completing a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Architecture as well as a Master’s Degree in Planning at the University of Nebraska. Having studied at the Dublin Institute of Technology in 2007, Andrea returned to Europe and settled in London, joining InsideOut in 2013.
Since this time Andrea has overseen the completion of many residential and commercial refurbishment projects, working with dedicated homeowners and growing brands to create a clear identity and ensure a smooth rollout.
Andrea has also worked at BVH and HDR architects in the US.
